Look, stuff is getting bad again. Holiday hangovers, winter, COVID strains, scary protests… I won’t keep going. So, if you’re like me and would rather be in denial – perhaps it’s time to paint?
You’ve probably read about Annie Sloan® Chalk Paint®; she invented the product in 1990 and continues to produce the best quality and most vibrant colors out of Oxford, England. Joanna and I were lucky to FaceTime with her once and she’s quite simply delightful.
But the paint is divine! You can transform any piece of old or boring furniture without sanding or priming. It’s not all farmhouse/rustic style and it’s really easy, I promise. I’m going to do my old, tiled basement floor next.
This year, we have some exciting opportunities under the Boxwood tent on South Royal.
First, we’ve always offered folks our workshop table to paint and use our supplies. Now, by popular demand, you can rent the tent for $100 a day to paint larger furniture (less than buying everything on your own).
We provide the full selection of Chalk Paint® colors and waxes, specialty brushes and tools, unlimited moral support, and answers to your questions. You just need old furniture that is begging for a refresh, the gumption to do it yourself, and muscle to move the piece to and from the tent.
Secondly, while we continue to offer private, ongoing classes on the basics for beginners – we’re also conducting more advanced workshops under the tent.
Call the shop to rent the tent or schedule a private 101 workshop. And you can book more advanced classes here.
We look forward to seeing you under the Boxwood tent!
Boxwood was born out of the idea that our homes should be as vibrant and colorful as the people who live in them. So our decorative items and gifts bring a fresh, modern look to Old Town – everything from pillows and table linens to furniture painted with Annie Sloan® Chalk Paint®.
