L’Agence Loungewear Trunk Show
A few months ago, my L’Agence representative called and asked if I wanted to be one of the independent boutiques to launch their Luxe Loungewear line. Clearly, that answer was “yes” as I did a little fist pump in the air. I mean, she had me at “loungewear,” but add in the other two L’s – luxe and L’Agence – and how could we go wrong?
If ever there was a season for elevated lounge pieces, it is the winter of 2021. Here is my view on loungewear: my opinion is that most of it can seem a little young. I personally think I am too old for thin fabric or things like cupcakes or doughnuts on my loungewear. I want to be able to wear it outdoors or not turn off my camera if I am on a Zoom call. I have a weird personal hang-up about words on my loungewear as well. I have carried Sundry for about eight years now and my rep laughs every time she shows me the line and tries to push the graphics because they are a best seller, and I don’t order them. Something about “Sunday Funday” or “Beach Vibes” just doesn’t work on me personally. Maybe it is because I am not the most whimsical person (I tend to be fairly boring when it comes to my clothes) or maybe it is because I am knocking at 50’s door and I just think that ship has sailed, so to speak. Don’t get me wrong, I love my college, pro sports, local business, and concert graphics on my clothes (I have a large section of all Ohio University and Cincinnati Reds and Bengals gear), but that is where it typically ends for me. I do have a “Mother Always Liked You Best” sweatshirt from Mother denim because I am the forgotten middle child. I actually always get a giggle from a few of their t-shirts and can’t not place an order.
If I am going to invest in something, I want it to work outside my house as well. We asked the lovely Kristi to model some of our new pieces, styled for both lounging and running out to the grocery or to grab a cup of coffee.
