Alexandre Birman Hits The Shoe Hive

I rarely order any sandals from a true “summer” delivery. Traditionally, we order sandals for resort or spring seasons and ride that inventory all summer. I know this can be frustrating for shoppers. You go in a store in the summer, and you can’t find any actual summer shoes – or they are picked over, and nothing is left in your size. Well, I decided to go against my usual tendencies this time. Seeing things seem to be different when it comes to retail and shopping in a post-Covid phase, I actually ordered summer sandals to be delivered in the summer. It’s a groundbreaking moment.

I called my Alexandre Birman representative and said, “it is time to bring you all back to The Shoe Hive.” We got our first and last shipment of this line in February of 2020, and to be honest, we didn’t really have a chance to see how the brand would perform, given what went down 30 days after their inventory last hit our shelves.

For this summer, I got the Clarita – with their signature bow detail. I decided to try it on a sport sandal and slide and, of course, their fan favorite, the block heel. But the style that really won me over was their jelly shoes. I know, I usually shy away because I don’t think they look sleek or sophisticated. But these were different. They are part jelly and part leather, and they have three options for ties. You can decide if you want a tubular leather strap for something more basic, a silky rope for something a little more luxe, or a printed silk scarf to dress things up. Three shoes in one! What a great summer option.
