Fifty Shades Of Yellow
Well, maybe not 50, but we have a lot of yellow in the store right now. Allison recently wrote about the 2021 Pantone colors. I can say with certainty that yellow has been in almost every collection and in every designer’s wheelhouse this spring and will be well into summer. Even without Pantone declaring it one of the colors of the year, I think we would have seen a lot of it. After the year we all had, I find the color to be happy, and it instantly lifts my mood. We have so many different shades of yellow that something is bound to work for everyone. From jewelry to shoes to clothes, it’s here.
I pretty much love everything that Lilla P does. When these tops arrived in the store recently, I just fell in love with the bright hues of them. It’s important for myself and the employees to try things on so we know how they fit and look. Both of these tops looked great on everyone. The color is just perfect. Michael Stars is another one of my favorites. This light-yellow top is made from a lightweight sweatshirt material, giving it a fun twist to a casual top. It can also be easily dressed up.
Johnny Was tops are some of my favorites in the store. They are always beautifully made, and the colors are so vibrant. This gorgeous top is no different. It’s one of the prettiest shades of yellow I’ve seen. I had to have one for myself. As a contrast, the THML top is a seriously fun and flirty top. In-person, the color is more of a neon and is such a happy, bright spot on the rack. It also has a fun tassel tie on the back in a contrasting blue.
Maven West is one of our lines that is completely cut to order. They have set styles, and I get to pick the colors. I ordered these in the fall and was drawn to yellow even then. Maven West has amazing fabrics, and they truly know how to make Cupro and linen. Cupro is such a soft and sustainable fabric and perfect for the tank top. Linen is perfect for long sleeves in the summer. Cool for hot weather but also offers some sun protection. This fun bright yellow top is from a new line for us, Never a Wallflower. So far, the line has been a hit. The ruffle cap sleeve on this top turns this basic poplin top into something special.
