14 reasons to be excited to be an alexandrian: part two

A few months ago, we first introduced to you The Patterson Group. This real estate team knows our city inside and out, and so who better to fill us in on all of the changes happening in Alexandria? We are grateful to Brittany Patterson who has given us fourteen reasons to be excited to live in Alexandria right now. Today’s post is the second in a two-part series, and includes the details on all of the latest restaurant openings, entertainment and much more!

1) Within the next few months, Black Wall Hitch Restaurant out of Annapolis, Maryland will take over the old food court pavilion, serving American cuisine. It will feature 450 indoor and outdoor seats, an oyster bar, craft beer, water views, and live music.

2) Now under construction, Carluccio’s will open its first location in the U.S. at 100 King Street. It will feature authentic food from all 21 regions of Italy and offer 125 dining seats, cooking classes, and wine tastings.

3) Sugar Shack is open and we are anxiously awaiting Captain Gregory’s! Alexandria’s newest Speak Easy will serve cocktails and donut-inspired food behind a secret sliding door in Sugar Shack. Rumors are that when the “out of rum” flag is flying, Captain Gregory’s is open for business.

4) Sonoma Cellar is coming to 207 King Street and will offer 100 seats – 26 outdoors, occasional live acoustic music, and will feature mainly wines from the Sonoma Region as well as some Virginia wines.

5) Dolci Gelati, a Washington D.C.-based gelato shop, is coming to 107 North Fairfax Street. It will feature authentic Italian recipe gelato, shaved iced, pastries, and coffee.

6) Possibility of a beer garden in Old Town? A wonderful Rosemont couple has proposed Alexandria’s first beer garden and gastro pub concept for 1725 Duke Street called Good Beer.

7) Escape Room Live, voted the #1 amusement in Washington D.C. by Trip Advisor, is scheduled to open its second location in Old Town Alexandria. Escape Room challenges teams of 2-12 people to search for clues, codes, and solve puzzles in order to escape a locked room in 45 minutes or less. The Old Town Location will offer 5-7 different themed rooms.
