TSALT’s Sidewalk Sale Preview

I’m sure many of you have marked your calendar already for the season’s major retail event in Alexandria: the Annual Sidewalk Sale. This bargain hunter’s dream has grown over the years to epic proportions. What used to be only a few savvy stores rallying shoppers to come and take part in deeply marked down summer merchandise has grown to more than 50 boutiques throughout Old Town and Del Ray! It’s pretty impressive when you think about it, proving again how Alexandria has earned its spot as the D.C. area’s Shop Small headquarters.

Whether you are planning on making it to the sale this weekend or not, it’s always fun to get peek the deals. The ladies at TSALT have been getting the racks ready with the brands you already know, along with the unique brands that keep TSALT a destination for European and Indie collections.

Each season TSALT selects a few unique labels that act as “market tests.” While Alexandrians are typically more classic with their style, there are plenty of women who love the more unique bend of indie brands. Occasionally these collections get picked up for another season but more often than not, these are one and done moments. What does this mean to shoppers? The Sidewalk Sale is where most of these indie collections get purged. If you are in the market for either unique pieces or staple items, you’ll want to get over to TSALT this week and check out the back two sale rooms that are full of unheard of deals.

Have you happened on any of the tops and dresses from C/MEO Collective during a visit to TSALT? This is an Australian brand that prides itself on experimental designs to dictate future taste. Their directional prints, premium fabrics, and bold silhouettes set them apart as one of the fashion-forward collection at TSALT.

Ba&sh may be a little more familiar to the well-seasoned shopper. However, if you haven’t discovered this French label yet, it’s another design duo that consists of best friends who want to bring their dream wardrobe to life and share it with other women like themselves who work and have children. This means the fabrics never feel itchy and the shapes are never tight; the clothes are designed to make women feel comfortable and beautiful.

It never hurts to get a jump on a mega sale. If I were you, I’d make a visit this week and scout your favorite pieces with some proper time and attention to what fits along with the best selection before the mayhem ensues. I’ve seen the tag slashing…let’s just say, Whaaaaaaaat????
