The Pants Line Famous for Its Perfect Fit

How many of you have a hard time finding pants that fit properly? Of all the items of clothing, pants can be the most difficult to master for designers. Years ago there was a standard in sizing to which designers were held. Today we are at the mercy of designers that market in a brand-centric manner where the fit model represents the target audience, which is why we are faced with sizing inconsistencies. In short, it is important to pay attention to brands that fit you well and stay loyal to them.

This brings me to the arrival of the fall pants from Cambio. The Cambio collection specializes in women’s premium pants and denim, offered in European sizes 32-46. They have built a brand specific to pants with a focus on the informed, trendy woman with a somewhat higher income. Throughout my career in fashion, as a buyer and a stylist, the cost of clothing has been an area to which I need to answer.

As a buyer, I needed to substantiate if the Alexandria market would purchase clothing at certain premium pricing. As a stylist, I advise to “buy less, choose well,” along with implementing my “cost per wear” guideline. When I go to market, I want to know the answer to these question with each brand I come across. Sometimes the cost of wear is due to the demand for the brand. Once you become sought after, the margins are in your favor. Other brands strive to keep the margins consistent in order to offer the end user the best price for the quality of the product. Enter Cambio, who continues to produce an exceptional quality of materials, a reliable and correct fit, premiere manufacturing, and the most exquisite details — all while staying current with a measured sense for trends.

Back in February, Tamara and I met in New York for fall showroom appointments. Barbara, our rep for Cambio, was kind enough to explain to us, on video, the various fits and the reason behind the the premium pricing.

If you haven’t determined already, I am a fan of the brand. My clients who have purchased Cambio all have different shapes, heights, and sizes. When a brand specializes in just one thing and becomes recognized in the industry for how well they execute their fit, it may be time assess for yourself! I have been purchasing Cambio for clients but this will be the first year I will purchase a pair for myself.

The Felicity is my preferred fit. It’s a fashion style with a concealed fastening, a cropped length, a straight leg, a waistband with belt loops and rear pockets. Not only are these the most reliable in fit but they are also undoubtedly one of the most comfortable pants I’ve tried on. Below I’ve styled a few looks including my favorite combination: blazer / t-shirt / sneakers! Usually this look is finished with a pair of denim but this year I’ll rotate the Felicity!

The Felicity Cropped Glen Plaid | Smythe Duchess Camel Blazer
T-shirt: Alicia’s own from Zadig & Voltaire
Finished this look with help from The Shoe Hive (Golden Goose Sneakers),
The Hive (Lizzie Fortunato Earrings), and Bellacara (RMS Lip Stain)

According to their marketing message, the Cambio customer is a modern, thirty-something female in tune with the latest fashions and trends and an affinity for designer brands. This secured another correct fit: that Cambio was an excellent collection for TSALT and the women of Alexandria.
