Summer Undergarments to the Rescue
We all need a little support in different areas. To complete your look, the true finishing touch may be building your foundation correctly.
Sometimes this is as easy as selecting the correct bra. I find that a good racer back bra is an absolute necessity come summertime. For casual everyday, I love the lace bralettes by Coobie. They run a little snug, so size up. The racer back detail adds coverage and looks intentional with many dresses and tops. It looks a lot better than your standard t-shirt bra straps — or worse, hooks! — showing through that cute keyhole detail in the back of your dress.
For dressier occasions, if wearing a black dress, the black lace bralette could possibly be an option, depending entirely on the neckline and style of dress, and, of course, the event!
But the solid go-to is the sticky bra, where you know nothing will show. Just make sure your sticky bra is new enough. If it is the dead of summer, it needs to still have enough stick to make it through a bit of perspiration.
Spanx Shorts are high-waisted miracle shapers and an absolutely a go-to for those summer dresses. Not only do they flatten your tummy, smooth your buttocks, and tone your thighs, I find they give me a little bit more pep in my step. I’m not as concerned with an accidental flash, so it allows me to move a little bit livelier and enjoy myself…without risking an inappropriate summer dress wardrobe malfunction.
