This week, I’m excited to get to introduce you to another one of my favorite people! Kristin Try of Gingham and Grosgrain is my no drama mama. She is the mom to three amazing little girls, the wife to a badass husband, an interior designer, and an extraordinary artist – oh, and if that weren’t enough, she is on our interior design team at Red Barn Mercantile. Any other person with that level of responsibility would have a drinking problem by now, but not Kristin. Her superpower is keeping calm in the middle of a storm.
Kristin is no-nonsense, but her style and art are anything but that. Her recent kitchen renovation is the perfect storm of all her creative gifts. She took her tiny ordinary kitchen and transformed it into designer showhouse-worthy. It was as if she took one of her beautiful abstract paintings and turned it into a kitchen. The texture of the painted oak cabinets – totally visionary by the way! – the mix of metals, the cool grays and the coastal blues, all remind me of her paintings. And she did it without a single tear or hair out of place. It was truly inspirational.
So, without further ado, I give you my friend, the talented and unsinkable Kristin Try.
