Linens are an important element when it comes to wedding décor. It’s all part of expressing the couple’s personality with a look and feel that is carried throughout their nuptial event. The table dressing should blend with the overall design concept to create a cohesive look. Dressing the table is like dressing the bridal party! It begins with choosing the style and mood—traditional, modern, subtle, bold, whimsical, edgy, romantic, etc.
A fabulous new venue for a wedding is being built right now by Ivanka Trump where the Old Pavilion Post Office was—Trump International Hotel. Your linens—tablecloths, napkins, chair covers, overlays, and skirting—make a major impact as soon as the guest sits down to a seated meal. They can make each place-setting pop, and should function as a beautiful backdrop for your floral décor. The best colors to choose for wedding linens are those that work well any time of year and blend with most design styles.
Coco Blanca strongly suggests using classic shades such as ivory and white, and other neutral hues like taupe and blush, or opting for a little more texture by using soft metallics like silver, platinum, gold, or copper. Be bold, and mix it up. Look at your color scheme and decide if there’s one color that could serve as your base (i.e., the dominant one) and one that works better as an accent color. Try blending blush with copper, white with silver, ivory with gold, or taupe with platinum.
Once the linens have been chosen, it’s time to collaborate with your wedding florist, like Enchanted Florist or Helen Olivia, to enhance the senses of your guests with an alluring blend of texture, color and fragrance!
