#obsessed: Welcoming Christophe Robin Haircare!
Once in a great while, a product comes along that I freely and exuberantly label “life-changing.” Revitalash, Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel Pads, and Maya Chia The Super Couple are just a few that you’ve heard me geek out about over and over. Actually, each of these items has a special sign on its shelf at the store, purely because I and our other staff love them so much.
So now, it’s my extreme pleasure to introduce you, loyal readers, to something else I know you’re going to be obsessed with, and something that’s about to have its own little sign on the shelf: Christophe Robin Haircare.
Representatives from big-name celebrity colorist Christophe Robin’s eponymous luxury haircare line approached Bellacara last spring. As I sorted through the products they brought for our trial, divvying them up by hair type so Angela and I could each try a range of things, I found myself getting more and more excited. I’d heard of his award-winning Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt, but never had the chance to use it. Redken had one a few years back that sounded similar but left my hair feeling crispy and sad…I’ll admit to being a little nervous to try this one.
I shouldn’t have been concerned, though: it was phenomenal. Light, beachy scent, thick, satisfying texture which lathered so richly it simply felt as though the small scoop I’d used on my scalp had somehow expanded without being diluted. I topped it off with the barest dollop of his Volumizing Conditioner with Rose Extracts and styled that day with only some spritzes of the Instant Volumizing Mist with Rose Water, curling after blowing dry. My hair looked legitimately Victoria’s Secret model wavy. I remember that day because I got a record number of hair compliments — it was almost a year ago, so that’s saying a lot; I don’t even remember what I ate for breakfast this morning.
Since that day, I’ve tried a significant number of products, and so has Angela. There is absolutely nothing I’ve tried from the line that hasn’t done exactly what it was supposed to and more. Even as I write this, I have a little cup of the multi-use Intense Regenerating Balm with Rare Prickly Pear Oil in front of me and I’m obsessively applying to my suddenly-softer cuticles. The system that Christophe Robin developed — which started as just him, making products expressly for his personal clients — is a little different from what we’ve all come to know as a standard haircare regimen, so the products need a little more detailed instruction before use. Let me tell you, though, that every step is so worth it. Your hair will be ridiculously healthy and happy, and don’t good hair days just make everyone feel better?
