is neon a no-no?

Katie: I invested in a couple of neon pieces last spring. Are they still relevant?

Sarah, Kiskadee: Well, I guess the answer is, yes and no. Neon is definitely not front and center among the Spring 2014 trends, but designers like Lilly Pulitzer use it all the time regardless of whether or not it is a designated trend. Neon is definitely still an option. This is one of the reasons I dislike the “In and Out” lists you see in magazines. Sometimes, it’s just not that simple. I suggest wearing your neon pieces with more demure and earthy accents, like a chunky wooden necklace or skinny camo cargo pants (yes, camo is a major trend right now.)

Regardless of how you wear those pieces you invested in, spring colors are trending toward bright yellow, orange and blue. So, if you love the neon trend, I say go for it!
