midi me, please!

This summer I spent a lot of time on eBay selling items that I was no longer using (a little self analysis). As luck would have it, I was able to still find things I wanted on eBay (go figure). I purchased only one item that I have used more than anything this summer – a silk midi skirt. I LOVE the silk midi for summer and it will also parlay into fall. The one I chose was an animal print (fall’s neutral), has two side slits, and sits away from the body (not clingy). Not only is it easy to throw on (even as a swim cover up) but it’s also very cool in the warmer temperatures.

Another one of my tenets of style is to develop a uniform. I have a few uniforms but one is now the midi skirt with a tank. This fall it will be come the midi skirt with the sweater and the blazer. Here are a few more reasons to love the midi…

  • easy to wear with boots
  • goes to a cocktail party
  • can become casual with a t-shirt or chambray shirt
  • dresses up with some jewelry and a strappy heel
  • sexy in the way it moves
  • office appropriate
  • age appropriate
  • changing the top changes the whole direction of the skirt, maximizing your wardrobe

And a few inspirational styles that I like that showcase the look of the midi.

I adore my black jersey midi skirt all year with a belted tunic top or a long shirt.
