the maxi dress dilemma

Norah: Are maxi dresses and skirt here to stay? Should I wait until spring to wear them?

Sarah: Whether you love them or hate them, maxi dresses are here to stay. (Hooray!) I personally love a maxi dress especially when worn with boots and a leather bomber jacket in the winter. Wedges and a sweet denim jacket in the summer.

Generally speaking, maxis make you appear taller. We have had several height-challenged customers that harbor preconceived ideas about maxi dresses–notably that the style is simply not suited to them. Inevitably, we determine that they are just disturbed by the extra length and are in need of a good tailor! Rarely will a garment ever fit you “off the rack,” and you should never settle for a fit that is “almost” perfect. Whatever your height, find a maxi dress that you love then if something needs to be tweaked, pay your tailor a visit. Don’t knock ’em till you try ’em–we’re convinced you’ll lear.
