It’s that time of year. For holiday cheer? Well, yes! Recently, I asked my good buddy Elizabeth Todd if she was free one evening this month and she declared “Well, not really, I have five parties that night.” Of course she does, she’s E.T. We’re adding one more to her list, and yours. It’s this Friday (tomorrow!) from 6:30-9pm, but this one is different because it’s all about getting together to chill out.
Are you so busy that you don’t have time to stop and smell the mistletoe? While your holiday spirit might be on a high, your your body-mind spirit could be on a low, and, as always, it’s our mission to help with that.
I love seeing people from the Mind the Mat community at the studio. It is one of the greatest joys in my life. We swap hellos running in and out of class, sweating on our mats, or gabbing at the water cooler, but we never just get to chill together. We are always in getting-it-done mode! Wouldn’t it be nice to sit back and relax at the studio with clean hair, a glass of wine, a kick butt pair of high heels, or bedtime slippers? Seriously, wear whatever you want! We might not even recognize each other. Except, we will, because whether we appear in sweaty yoga pants, pajamas, or in a glamorous holiday dress, we’ll know each other by our familiar smiles. Hopefully that smile will glow even brighter after a complimentary essential oil shoulder rub in our holiday massage chair or an awesome prize from our holiday raffle.
If you’re a member, bring a buddy, if you’re a buddy, bring a member and enter our raffle. If one of you wins…you both win three months free membership at MtM! We draw at 7:30pm; be there to win!
Other prizes include great swag from our partners:
Mind the Mat Pilates & Yoga was founded in 2008 by Megan Brown, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Polestar Certified Practitioner of Pilates for Rehabilitation and Sara VanderGoot, Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher (e-RYT 200, RYT 500). In their private practices as physical therapist and massage therapist respectively Megan and Sara observed that many of their clients were coming in with similar needs: relief for neck and shoulder tension and low back pain as well as a desire for more flexibility in hips and legs, stability in joints, and core strength.
Together Megan and Sara carefully crafted a curriculum of Pilates and yoga classes to address needs for clients who are pregnant, postpartum, have injuries or limitations, who are new to Pilates and yoga, and for those who are advanced students and are looking for an extra challenge.
