Last week, Sandra Bullock was voted People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman of the Year, making her the first woman over 50 to receive this top honor. Go ahead, take a moment to smile as you let that one sink in. There couldn’t have been a more graceful, beautiful, and well-deserving woman to grace 2015’s cover. Did you know, she’s TECHNICALLY a local? Bullock was born in Arlington, VA!

So let’s revisit one of our favorite and timeless Sandra looks from when she won Best Actress at the 2010 Oscars.

First, moisturize and prime the skin. Since our skin tends to dry as we age, I recommend Rilastil’s Hydrotenseur lotion and Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer SPF 20 With Dermaxyl™ Complex. This Primer will smooth, protect, and correct in a single step.

Next, use a foundation brush and blend in a few drops of Kevy Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Fluid. The silky, serum foundation will give you that red carpet worthy, flawless finish.

Sweep a pearly neutral cream shadow, like Praline from Jouer, over the entire lid and blend in a bit of a darker shade (like Jouer’s Chocolate) making sure to keep the deeper color in the crease. This gives the eyes the illusion of a bit of depth. Jouer makes some of my favorite, go to shadows for summer, because they are sheer and buildable… and nearly impossible to mess up!

Using a black liquid liner, T. Le Clerc is one of my go-tos, tight line the upper lid. Line the lower lid with a black pencil, again, keep it close to the lashes so your eyes don’t shrink. Gently smudge with a smudge brush to soften the lines on the upper and lower lids. Fill in and brush your brows. Then load that mascara up and go to town. I highly recommend either Nouba Mascarone or Stila’s Mile High Lashes. If you want to get really fancy, break out the falsies. The lashes are really the stars of the eye here.

Blend a pink, creamy, hydrating blush, like Vincent Longo’s Swan Lake, from the apple of the cheek up to the temple. The watery finish keeps the skin looking effortlessly dewy, not powdery.

There is nothing nude about these lips. Grab the Hot Pink liner from Lipstick Queen and line the natural shape of your lips. Fill in the lips with LQ’s Screen Scene in Play It.

Protect your skin from premature aging by spritzing Coola’s new Green Tea & Aloe Makeup Setting Spray over your skin. Sandra would definitely approve of this move.

And last but not least, Sandra didn’t achieve this accolade by her good looks alone, but through her real life Miss Congeniality personality (see what I did there?). So complete the look with a big, bright smile.
