Before greeting each other at the diner table, give thanks at Mind the Mat on your mat. Bring your out-of-town guests for these two invigorating yoga workshops, each designed to strengthen and stretch the entire body while promoting balance and stress relief.
Let Julie Wieland guide you through our Hot Power Vinyasa workshop. This is an energizing, challenging, and powerful class that highlights flow and postures, meditation, and movement. Expect to move, sweat, breathe, and leave transformed and ready to take on Thanksgiving. Julie’s teaching style is grounded in tradition with the playfulness of vinyasa. She creates smart and intuitive sequences meant not only to challenge, but also to be accessible to students of all levels. Room temperature is 95 degrees to promote deeper flexibility and to sweat out the toxins from the night before! Click here for more information.
Practice with Nora Green during this special two-part Thanksgiving morning class. Begin with a 45-minute flow to awaken the muscles and release holiday tension. Then we’ll slow it down even more, exploring deep restorative poses for 45-minutes. Restorative poses are accompanied by hands-on assists to help you get deeper into the stretches. Get the best of both worlds with this special holiday class. Nora keeps things light with her sense of humor — all are welcome! Her goal after this class is to have you leave sweating but smiling. If a “barre burn” more your style, you can get that in at 9am with our Pilates Barre before the second turkey baste!
That’s OK. We are still thankful for you. We’ll be expressing our gratitude in Arlington too at 9am with David! Click here for more information.
Mind the Mat Pilates & Yoga was founded in 2008 by Megan Brown, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Polestar Certified Practitioner of Pilates for Rehabilitation and Sara VanderGoot, Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher (e-RYT 200, RYT 500). In their private practices as physical therapist and massage therapist respectively Megan and Sara observed that many of their clients were coming in with similar needs: relief for neck and shoulder tension and low back pain as well as a desire for more flexibility in hips and legs, stability in joints, and core strength.
Together Megan and Sara carefully crafted a curriculum of Pilates and yoga classes to address needs for clients who are pregnant, postpartum, have injuries or limitations, who are new to Pilates and yoga, and for those who are advanced students and are looking for an extra challenge.
