Discontinued?! The Beauty of Out with the Old, in with the New

Part of the fun of springtime is preparing to bring on different skincare and cosmetics lines. While this is always a good time, it sometimes means letting other lines we’ve loved take a back burner for a while, possibly for the long term. As a consumer whose life seems to be made up almost exclusively of “They discontinued my favorite [literally anything they can discontinue]?!” I fully understand the dismay with which a client may walk around Bellacara, not finding their go-to foundation or sunscreen moisturizer. However, this is the beauty of the boutique environment. Unlike some larger stores, we carry things we like, not things Big Scary Corporate has told us we have to figure out. This means that we can absolutely guide you toward something you may love even more than the last one — Prince Charming wasn’t built in a day, or something like that.

 These are just a few of the amazing products people needed to be coaxed into trying…yet they ended up being some of our most popular. 

When a brand approaches the shop, Angela and I give it the old college try. If one or both of us like it, we get opinions from the other lovely ladies who work with us. This system helps us make sure that a skincare or makeup line has enough product diversity to work for multiple ages, skin types, and conditions. I say this to reassure you that when you come in and we no longer stock your favorite, it’s because we are confident that there was something legitimately better out there, and that’s what we have in stock currently. The end is not always the end, dear readers. There’s always something awesome right around the corner, if you just give us the chance to show you.
