Dark Spot Blasters
I have taken advantage of all this mask wearing lately to try out a few dark spot correctors. I’ve mentioned before, and it bears repeating – the sun is the number one cause of dark spots, followed closely by hormonal changes in the body. As a former sun worshipper (what was I thinking?!) I have some discoloration on the top of my forehead and the tops of my cheeks. (Side note: metal-rimmed sunglasses may be causing discoloration as well! Metal draws in sun to the area and can cause hyperpigmentation around your glasses.) As always, your first line of preventing sunspots is SPF, but we have many great serums to help you get the even and bright complexion you’ve been longing for if those dreaded spots have already surfaced.
Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense:
This multi-phase serum is formulated with niacinamide, kojic acid, and sulfonic acid to visibly reduce the size and intensity of discoloration while improving clarity for a brighter, more even-toned complexion.
Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution:
This highly effective dark spot corrector is formulated to have a visible impact on dark spots caused by age and UV exposure. This serum visibly diminishes the number and intensity of dark spots and includes an ingredient that helps stop spots before they start.
Clarins Mission Perfection Serum:
This serum visibly diminishes dark spots, dyschromia, and shadowy areas without altering your natural skin tone.
Zelens Z Luminous Brightening Serum:
This powerhouse serum helps diminish the appearance of dark spots and discoloration while enhancing radiance and refining skin texture. This is by far my favorite brightening serum. I woke up with brighter and more even-toned skin after just one use.
