One of the reasons I call my business TulleBox is that I have a fairly vast skill set. I originally received my degree in Interior Design and have attached many of my other skills to the core philosophies I studied in college. Being a stylist is more often than not, a seasonal business. During the summer, things slow down and I need to find alternative revenue streams. This summer, I have revisited The Peanut Gallery, a business I started before I stepped into the wonderful world of fashion.
The Peanut Gallery is a design solution idea that celebrates and archives children’s artwork. I take your child’s artwork and scan or photograph it. Then I reduce the pieces and take them into PhotoShop to make any necessary adjustments. I lay them out either as a poster or hand cut and adhere each miniature masterpiece onto a archival thick stock so they “float” above the canvas. They are framed, then dates and the child’s name are written in the lower right hand corner. Voila! A Peanut Gallery for your own wall or desk along with electronic pdf docs of each piece of art. The pricing varies according to size and quantity of art.
Galleries come in a variety of sizes and pricing varies. They can be framed in a number of ways. Coco Blanca has some wonderful frames that would look great around smaller galleries.
**Design Tip
Frames don’t necessarily have to be dedicated to photography. Consider collecting a group and displaying some of your child’s artwork, or using them to hold a menu for your dinner party. Larger frames make great dry erase boards or can organize jewelry in your closet.
