I’m trying not to sob into my coffee as I write this. It’s back to school time! And for my family and probably yours, it will be very different than years past. As we mourn what a typical school year would be and think about virtual learning, social distancing with our friends, and longing for the structure of a “normal” school week, I had a thought last week while driving: maybe this will actually be the best school year yet? Perhaps the more individualized attention, slower pace of life, and new creative ways for students to learn will turn out to be better than years past.
As a small business owner, COVID has certainly shown me the importance of flexibility and adaptability, and the silver linings that come from it. Perspective is everything, and I’ve decided that I can’t let myself stress about the uncertainty of the upcoming year, I’ve got to embrace the opportunity of this new normal (and quit crying into my coffee!)
One thing we can count on being the same…first day of school pictures.
