ask stylebook: patterned tights?

Rachel: Do patterned tights work on everyone?

Alicia, The Tulle Box: The short answer is no. We all have our strengths and weaknesses and if you have thicker legs, I would avoid patterned tights. Patterns tend to draw our eye and if this is an area that you don’t want celebrated, avoid the patterns. Determine what your own comfort level is with trends such as patterned tights. It can be a great place to reinvent a dress you already own by making it instantly polished for evening. Patterned tights can also give your look a very street style credibility. Taylor Swift, Victoria Beckham and Ashley Olson have used patterned tights to elevate their look. If you choose to wear them, make sure they enhance the overall outfit and do not compete.
