Julie: I just purchased a pair of sparkly, dangly earrings. The young woman who sold them to me seemed to think I could wear them during the day too. Is it okay to wear jewelry like that during the day and how would I do that?
Cathy, Style Speaks: Absolutely! Try pairing your sparkly earrings with denim for an unexpected look: a chambray shirt, dark jeans and your sparkly earrings would look great. Keep your other accessories on the dressier side so the earrings don’t look random; for example, add a statement ring and dressy flats and you’ve got a great outfit for brunch with the girls. You could also wear them to the office by keeping the rest of your outfit simple – I’m picturing a black turtleneck and black pants paired with your sparkly earrings. This would be a great day-to-night option if you’re heading out after work. By keeping the rest of your outfit simple, but quality, and adding one or two complementary accessories, you’ll get double duty out of those earrings. Don’t be afraid to sparkle during the day!
