An Oil-free Double Cleanse
I recently wrote an article on the importance of taking off your makeup before you wash your face. You might remember the title, “Would you mop a floor if you haven’t swept?” I have, however, had a few customers mention their apprehension about using oil on their face. Whether it be a fear of a breakout or disliking an oil in general, I get it. I have oily skin and the thought of cleansing with oil made me nervous, I eventually came around to it, but for all you gals out there scared of oil, Dr. Dennis Gross developed the Hyaluronic Marine Meltaway Cleanser. It is an oil-free, nourishing cleanser that dissolves waterproof makeup, dirt, and oil without stripping the moisture barrier. It is designed for dry and sensitive skin and safe to use around the eye area. Bonus: It is soap and sulfate free!
Just massage it onto dry skin in circular motions to break up all your makeup. It is recommended to remove gently with a damp cloth, cotton round, or tissue. I tried removing with all three and discovered that removing with a microfiber makeup removing towel was by far the best and most eco-friendly way to go. Don’t forget to still wash your face after using the Meltaway Cleanser! It pairs superbly with the Kiehl’s Ultra-Facial Oil-Free Cleanser.
