golden globes red carpet review: fashion edition

There is nothing I don’t love about awards season; my favorite is seeing which runway trends celebrities will wear on the red carpet. From ethereal and romantic to those wow factor gowns, here are my favorite picks of the night.

Natalie Dormer in Calvin Klein
The “X-Factor” neckline is a huge trend for Spring. It’s a very new shape and a very feminine and elegant way to show off your body.

Caitriona Balfe in Alexander McQueen
Black lace is another huge spring trend. To make it work and keep it from looking matronly, opt for a light and airy feel, like French lace.

Melissa Benoit in Monique Lhuillier
Florals are always a spring trend, yet risky for the red carpet, because it can look not dressed up enough. But because the fit of this Monique Lhuillier gown is classic and the print is small, it works.

Zendaya Coleman in Marchesa
This is my absolute favorite dress of the night! Understated, yet romantically edgy.

Rooney Mara in Alexander McQueen
Ruffles were all over the runways for Spring ’16. This dress works because its ethereal and doesn’t come off “youthful and tweeny”. Rooney adds edge to this gown with her slicked back braid and dark red lip.

Brie Larson in Calvin Klein
Sequins were huge on the runway and are always crowd pleasers on the red carpet. Such a wow factor!

Jenna Dewan Tatum is a vision in this sparkly starry Zuhair Murad gown

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy
You just can’t have a red carpet best dressed list without the always fashion forward perfection Cate Blanchett!
