Winter Wonderland Wedding

When asked what the most popular wedding months are most of us immediately think of May and June (peony season, am I right?!?) or autumn months right when the leaves turn. For me, winter has my heart. There’s nothing that tugs at my heartstrings quite like a cold snowy night with the warmth of friends, family…and some seriously gorgeous flowers.

When our couple, Crystal and Jason, first reached out for help in planning their January wedding at the Four Seasons Georgetown we were thrilled to help bring their wintry vision to life. Within just a few moments of sitting down together I knew that they would be a fun couple to work with – great taste and a sense of adventure in styling a wedding that felt custom and fresh.

For the bridal bouquet, we harnessed the colors of the season and opted for gorgeous white peonies and garden roses, anemones, silver brunia berries, and mixed gray foliage. The bride wore a fur bolero for outdoor photos which made for the perfect wintry look.

Our groom, Jason, was focused on the little details and helped us dream up incredible custom boutonnieres for the men – blue thistle, guinea feathers, and a cool leather wrap. Each was a unique accent for the men wearing them.

Jason and Crystal walked down an aisle lined with gorgeous mercury glass lanterns, driftwood, and lush vertical sprays of imported white delphinium from Holland. The showstopper of the night was a stunning custom arch crafted out of hundreds of pieces of driftwood and frosty blue eucalyptus. It was quite the feat to build (and weighed hundreds of pounds) but turned out the be one of the most unique and beautiful arches we’ve ever made. In the hour before the wedding, it began snowing, which made for an even more spectacular guest experience.

The dinner reception featured custom eucalyptus garlands for the bars and a mix of candle-heavy centerpiece styles for each of the tables.
