Life is unpredictable. This can be a good and bad thing–a surprise happy hour here, or surprise trip to the doctor’s office (we are always hoping for the former). In any event, the important thing is to be prepared. Things that are out of our control can come up, but if we get out ahead of it, we are invincible.
Potential problem #1: Weather. You can never go wrong with layers and a comfortable pair of jeans. Outdoors, remove your suede jacket to avoid unwanted perspiration–indoors, reapply and no AC unit will stand in your way.
Potential problem #2: Unknown formality of an unexpected event. To avoid the ever-embarrassing “I’m overdressed/I’m underdressed” horror, go for something right down the middle. Dark denim jeans–color makes them appear dressier, while maintaining the laid-back vibe that jeans portray. This layered Chan Luu jewelry dresses up the simple white tank.
Potential problem #3: Comfort…or lack there of. As with anything, opt for what feels good. I’m not talking sweatpants and slippers, here…although that sounds amazing. I find that Paige denim is soft and stretchy, never making me feel constricted. These Paige bootcuts are a perfect fit…literally! Tailored, yet comfy. When choosing a shoe for the day, choose a wedge or chunky heel if you need a little lift. These Via Spigas have a thick enough heel to provide support (and style) south of anyone’s ankles.
