what to wear: a night out in DC

Living so close to the District can be a blessing and a curse. A blessing because we have access to a plethora of amazing new restaurants. Indeed, over the past couple years, DC has really blossomed from the once stuffy politico town to a city with some of the top restaurants and bars in the country. It’s a curse because of all of the traffic we have to deal with on a daily basis. But regardless of how we feel about the bumper to bumper traffic, we likely can all agree that sometimes it’s fun to plan a night out and head into the “city.” Whether it’s a girls night or date night with the hubby, there are endless options for fun to be had.

A new favorite spot of ours is the newly renovated Embassy Row Hotel. The hotel has gorgeous rooms, has a rooftop pool perfect for sunset cocktails and delicious light bites at their restaurant. You can either join them for a mini stay-cation or stop by for a cocktail before you head to dinner near by.

To make sure you look unstoppable for your night out on the town, you will of course need a fabulous dress. We love this one by Go Silk because it’s easy to pack, doesn’t wrinkle and is super comfortable (which comes in handy when dancing or eating the night away). It’s also perfect for transitioning into fall when the nights get a little bit chilly. If your night requires more dressy attire, jazz up the look with some fabulous accessories and you have an eye catching look that will be sure to turn heads.
