Westman Atelier Eye Pods Have Arrived!

Anticipation has been high for this launch. We were originally supposed to get our shipment in May, but as the Westman line is made in Italy, the launch was pushed to July and then released only online. Scores of you came into the store hoping to get your hands on them and we promised to let you know as soon as they arrived.

As Stylebook readers you are the first to know. Les Jours (the lighter of the trios) sold out online weeks ago. We are so excited to be able to offer it to you now. We expect to sell out quickly, so if you know you want it, please call and purchase yours over the phone as we will not be able to hold any product. We will try to restock as quickly as possible, but our initial allotment is not as large as we had hoped.

As many of you know, the Eye Pods are sold in sets of three. Each shadow comes housed in its own pot, which stacks magnetically to the others in the set. Les Jours has three lighter shades. Neige (iridescent white); Chocolat (warm brown); and Tabac (caramel).

Les Nuits has slightly darker, warmer shades. Noir (black); Champagne (pearl); and Vin Rouge (wine).

After so much anticipation, I wasn’t sure if they’d live up to the hype. I’m happy to report that for me, they do. A wonderful consistency, it’s the first clean eyeshadow that I have actually loved. The colors impart the perfect amount of pigment for a natural to slightly dramatic look. If you want a light wash of color they can be applied with your finger. For a bit more color pay-off the new shadow brushes are the way to go. I initially thought I’d just want Les Jours, but as is generally the case with Westman… I now want them both. They all blend together so beautifully and I love that I can mix and match each of the pods.

If you love Westman Atelier, I think you’ll love these too.

I have been a beauty junkie for what seems like forever, but before I did anything about it, I went to law school. (Yes, my life is a little like the reverse of Legally Blonde.) Then, I worked as a prosecutor in Sonoma County after which I moved to the DC area with my husband in ’97. I served as Majority Counsel to the Senate Banking Committee followed by a year-long stint at a lobbying firm. You get the picture. It was then that I decided to act on my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Finding my favorite beauty products proved to be impossible without stepping foot in a mall–the horror. So, I decided to bring my favorites to Alexandria. A few trips to New York and a flight to France and Bellacara was born in March 2000.

Located in historic Old Town Alexandria, for more than 17 years Bellacara has been Northern Virginia's preeminent boutique for high end cosmetic, skincare and haircare products. At Bellacara you will find premiere beauty products that have been carefully edited by the store’s owner, Angela Sitilides, who personally tests all the products sold in store. The boutique carries only the best product lines – Kiehl’s, Jouer, Dr. Dennis Gross, Christophe Robin, Moroccan Oil, Bumble & Bumble, Fresh, Molton Brown, Skinceuticals, Smashbox, Stila, Mario Badescu, Clarins, Dermalogica, Kevyn Aucoin, Kai, Child, St. Tropez, Smith and Cult, and many more.
