what to wear: winter white

Some rules are just made to be broken and the age old rule of “No White After Labor Day” is certainly one that we are ready to do away with. All white ensembles have been gracing the runways season after season, so why do we limit the color to only summer months? We say pull out those white jeans, tops and jackets that you packed away with your summer clothes and start transitioning them into your fall and winter wardrobe.

As the weather gets colder and the days get shorter, we usually tend to start gravitating towards darker hues but this year will be much different for us. We are all about light shades mixed with neutral tones that make for a cool, yet weather appropriate look. There is something about wearing shades of ivory and creamy whites in the dead of winter that give you a luxurious head-to-toe après-ski look. This is what we call “Winter White” and this color has been gaining major popularity over the past few years.

Being huge fans of the neutral color palette ourselves, as many of you know from our shop, we just had to let you know that this is a fashion rule that you most definitely should break. We paired the all white ensemble with a taupe shearling jacket and a pair of nude suede heels that helped lengthen the appearance of our models legs and really pulled the entire look together. Just make sure when wearing white in colder months that you pay attention to the fabrics and necklines to ensure that what your wearing is both flattering and weather appropriate.

Wearing white after the holiday may seem like a risk, but it’s one we encourage you to take. So what are your thoughts? Will this be a fashion rule you are willing to break?
