Living in close proximity to DC has many advantages … a few being the amount of events and concerts that take place on a weekly basis. We may deal with the nuances of traffic and lack of parking spaces that come with living near a big city, but there is never a lack of things to do!

Nothing beats good company, a cold beverage and live music. And lucky for us, one of our favorite places to do all three is right around the corner. America’s Legendary Music Hall, better known as The Birchmere, is located in Alexandria and always has a variety of artists showing on a weekly basis, which makes it fun to discover new bands and explore different genres of music.

Dressing for a concert can be almost as fun as attending one. It is a time that you can really express yourself through your clothing. The key is to look effortless and feel at ease enough to sit, sway or dance the night away. Whether you’re attending a pop, country, or a jazz concert, don’t be afraid to rock out in an eye-catching outfit.

The look we selected for Alex is rock-n-roll inspired with a country girl twist! We love the leather braided sleeves on this black jersey dress, and the fringe details on her wristlet clutch. Carrying a large purse to a concert is obviously inconvenient, so opting for a light-weight wristlet is definitely the way to go. The over-the-knee suede wedge boots give Alex height but also provide enough comfort so that she will be able to dance the night away, even through the last encore.
