Thanksgiving through New Year’s, Kids’ Looks We’re Loving for Holiday 2016

At 529 Kids Consign, the holidays are certainly one of our favorite times of the year for kiddie fashion. From classic to trendy, fun to chic, there are so many ways for your little ones to show their holiday spirit. Here, you’ll find some of our favorite looks in our boutique for this holiday season, and the best part is, with these consignment prices, you’ll have a lot leftover for your gift list.

Thanksgiving, November 24th

Did somebody say turkey and pumpkin pie? How about looks to match! We can’t get enough of this pretty pumpkin number from Silly Goose. Or choose this romper or dress with smocking for your little turkey.

Scottish Walk, December 3rd

The Scottish Christmas Walk parade is always one of our favorite events in Alexandria. To really get in the spirit, we certainly recommend a tartan plaid look. Here’s one we’re loving this year for the boys from Janie and Jack. And for the girls that want to make it a fancy affair, they’ll be ready to party in one of these dresses from Hartstrings.

Hanukkah, December 24th-30th

We like the idea of celebrating the Festival of Lights in signature shades of blue. We love the idea of getting your newborn in the spirit with this velour onesie from Kissy Kissy.  These corduroy dresses from Mini Boden in shades of blue are always fun for the girls!  For the boys, we’re digging the idea of creating a dapper look with a classic button-down like this navy and white shirt from Polo.

Christmas Eve, December 24th

“‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” Yeah, right! We know the little ones can hardly keep calm on Christmas Eve, so they might as well wait for Santa in style. These sleepers from Hanna Andersson will do just the trick! And they’re so comfy, they might actually fall asleep.

Christmas, December 25th

For the big day, your little ones can be Christmas-y and comfortable in festive tees like these matching reindeer ones from Hanna Andersson. Or the kiddos can be ready for Christmas dinner festive overalls. We especially love these Santa or snowman overalls from Kelly’s Kid.

New Year’s Eve, December 31st

Megan’s career in retail/merchandising began in the mid nineties standing in front of a woodsy smelling Abercrombie and Fitch. Sporting an oversized plaid flannel and bootcut jeans she said hello to every customer that eagerly walked in to the popular retailer. Little did Megan know that, while creating a perfect “denim wall”and dressing in all of the latest fashion that the lifestyle brand offered she was building the foundation for her fun and exciting career! After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Megan managed multiple A&F stores before she moved on to an assistant buyer position in contemporary dresses at the local Arlington based retailer Hecht’s (now Macy’s). She gained an immeasurable amount of knowledge before moving onto a different facet of the business at Calvin Klein Jeans. Megan worked her way from retail coordinator to East-Coast regional manager helping to create the Calvin Klein aesthetic in department stores from Boston to Miami. After her first son Ethan was born, her position at CKJ was eliminated, due to the harsh economic conditions at the time. This is how 529 was born! Megan quickly began to see how fast Ethan was growing out of his clothing. She knew other moms had the same amount of adorable “gently-worn” clothing piling up. Combining her love of retail and her obsession with dressing Ethan gave her the idea to try and sell this clothing. 529 became a popular “pop-up” shop in the Alexandria area and once the following was big enough, a brick and mortar store in historic Old Town. 529 Kids Consign exemplifies who Megan is and what she has learned throughout her career. It’s a warm, well-organized, well- edited boutique that attracts moms from all over the DC metro area. On any given visit to the store you may be greeted by three boys dressed to the nines..they too have the passion.
