street style: kristen coffield

Kristen Coffield is a wonderful friend and customer, whose joie de vivre is unparalleled. Like many of my friends, Kristen Coffield and her husband have spent the last few years completely reinventing and rebooting.  They downsized, started new jobs, launched children, sadly lost parents and pets…and were ready to embrace positive change.  So after working for herself for 30 years, catering and culinary coaching individuals for health and wellness, Kristen went to work for the dynamic Tina Alster M.D. at the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery.

Her position as the Patient Experience Coordinator, (and all around “super fixer”) uses every skill in her wheelhouse, with the added benefit of having access to insider scoop on cutting edge beauty treatments and products.

“Working with women I respect and admire, in an environment dedicated to empowering individuals to look and feel their best, is an added benefit to finding personal balance by embracing mental, physical, and emotional challenges as part of a well-lived life,” says Kristen.

Kristen is wearing a Black Go Silk Tea Length Silk Dress, $450, and matching Italian Baroque Sea Pearl Earrings, $187.50 and Necklace, $337.50, all available at Coco Blanca.

ABOUT YOU
How do you spend your time? I would like to think that I don’t “spend” my time, but rather invest my time. There is the time I invest at the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery enhancing the patient experience. The time I invest helping clients look and feel their best working with me at the Culinary Cure, and the time I invest with family and friends, squeezing in as much cooking, eating, and travel as possible.
Neighborhood: Fords Landing in Old Town
How long have you lived in Alexandria: 30 years of dramatic change.
What is your hometown? Bronxville, New York, my in-laws and father still live there.
What brought you to Alexandria? I had just gotten married and we moved to D.C for my husband’s job as Chief of Staff for Congressmen Bill Emerson.
What would surprise people about you? I love to read in the bathtub.
You’re a superhero: what’s your superpower? No doubt about it, I would want time travel.
Favorite cocktail: Really great tequila on the rocks and I have an affinity for small batch bourbon.
