Street Style: Gosia Habib
When you start your own business, it is tempting to try and do everything yourself. When I started Sarah Akram Skincare, I was careful to ensure that everything — even the tiniest of details — met my very high standards of service and skill. It didn’t take long, however, before I realized I was going to need help. Still, I was afraid I wouldn’t find another skincare specialist who shared my expectations and commitment. Luckily, I found Gosia.
Gosia has worked with me since January and she couldn’t be a better fit. Having grown up in Poland and now a doting mother of two, Gosia moved to the United States to pursue a career in skincare after traveling the world in search of the newest and most effective skincare practices and products. Her passion for the industry and our clients is what makes her so good at what she does. Specializing in signature facials, she hones in on the needs of the client, tailors her treatments accordingly, and approaches skincare with a rare level of creativity that provides optimal results. She, like me, believes that external beauty is a reflection of internal health.
Trusting someone else with my clients was a major step for me, but I am so glad I took it. Gosia’s technique is exceptional and I am excited for our Stylebook readers to get to know her!

ABOUT YOU
How do you spend your time? My very favorite way to spend my spare time is travelling with my family.
How long have you lived in Alexandria? I’ve been working in Alexandria on and off for the past 10 years and my heart has been always here but last year I’ve moved about 45 miles West of Old Town.
What is your hometown? My home town is a small spa resort town in Poland called Busko-Zdroj.
What brought you to Alexandria? I came to the U.S. as a student 15 years ago and always lived in Alexandria area.
What would surprise people about you? I believe that many people would be surprised to know that I have practiced and was heavily involved in Martial Arts before coming to the U.S.
You’re a superhero: what’s your superpower? My son told me on Mother’s Day couple of months ago that my superpower is being a MOM. I have to strongly agree that being a parent often requires super power.
Favorite cocktail: Hemingway daiquiri
