street style: erin streeter

I had never met Erin before our appointment early one morning for these photos. Still, I was assured, “You will love her! She is the friendliest person.” And it’s true. Erin just might be the friendliest person I have ever met. Instantly, she welcomed me into her home, made me feel comfortable (as the photographer, I’m pretty sure that should have been my job!), and flashed her signature smile for the camera.

Stylebook readers first learned of Erin in a recent piece by Adrien of Fitness on the Run (FOR), where she chronicled Erin’s fitness and nutrition journey. The journey has been long and hard, but as these pictures attest it has been more than worth it. A mom of three, Erin feels and looks better than she ever has and she credits the training and support she received from FOR.

Erin has lived in Alexandria for nearly twenty years, first behind the Masonic Memorial and now in Belle Haven. It’s safe to say that Alexandria is “home.” After twenty years in our great city, Erin is always running into someone she knows. And she loves this about Alexandria–it feels like a small town and has a great sense of community, an important quality to Erin as she has three young children.

Shopping and style have always been personal pastimes. She worked retail during college, finding herself in several clothing boutiques. This experience engrained in her a strong appreciation for spending her dollars locally which she tries to do as much as possible. Though her job and family keep her busy, her ideal day would include a trip to the farmers market at Market Square followed by a visit to her favorite shops–The Shoe Hive, Bellacara, Kiskadee and Ivy Lane.

In fact, shortly after her move to Belle Haven, Erin hired Ivy Lane to help in the decorating process. “I’ve worked with several designers before but Alex and Courtney have really nailed my style…I LOVE color. While they have given me beautiful things, they also understand I have three active kids and animals. Everything in my home will hold for wear and tear.” When her space is complete, Erin has agreed to let us show you photos!
