street style: alicia mccaslin

Alicia McCaslin was the face of Hysteria until she left just over a year ago to start her own business aptly named The TulleBox. Alicia’s resume is as creatively eclectic as her style. She’s been an interior designer, a web designer, worked in marketing and created children’s art galleries. Fashion and clothing have been her passion, however, since a very early age. Both her mother and grandmother were talented seamstresses, so it’s not surprising that Alicia found herself managing a clothing boutique in her hometown of Alexandria.

Buying trips and attending fashion shows in New York were the hi-lights of her 6+ years at Hysteria, but she was also the creative mind behind the visually dynamic emails and marketing of the Hysteria brand during her tenure (she’s had a hand in a number of other local boutique advertising efforts as well!). Her ability to put outfits together from what already exists inside a client’s wardrobe is what could be described as style economics. She will also recreate pieces that you already own by suggesting a tweak here and there. “I love to build on what a client already owns since they were initially drawn to purchase those pieces.”

Alicia considers her work problem solving, with some necessary styling, and a bit of closet therapy. “Ultimately, it’s the woman who should shine from within; the clothing should be there to accentuate her.”
