September Baby Blues (& Pinks & Yellows…)
When I was a little girl I always had fun collecting rocks in my birthstone. Luckily I was born in April, which means I was collecting diamonds! But my favorite color to wear is actually blue (I’m a total jeans girl and always have been) and the velvety color of the finest sapphire – the Ceylon Sapphire – intrigues me, making me calm and excited at the same time. So you September babies, with your sapphire birthstone, are lucky, too. A precious gem of wisdom, loyalty, and nobility, it’s said to focus the mind, encourage self-discipline, and channel higher powers.
When people say “sapphire,” they’re usually referring to the royal blue variety of this gem. But this stone comes in a multitude of colors: blue, green, pink, yellow, orange, and purple. All except red, which is classified a ruby instead. This lovely gem gives September-born babies a full spectrum of options when choosing the shade of birthstone that best represents them.
