Save the Date for the Alexandria Warehouse Sale

Alright, ladies, mark your calendars! The Super Bowl of Shopping is here. This year’s annual Alexandria Warehouse Sale is Saturday, February 4 from 9am to 4pm at The Westin located off Duke Street in the Carlyle neighborhood of Alexandria. It will be bigger and better than ever!

This is the second year the event will be held at the Westin and we are so excited to have secured the larger, more convenient location a second time. With more than twenty-five vendors, we are going to need the space! Each year we have more than one thousand shoppers come through the doors in search of great deals on diamonds, designer shoes, and everything in between. You won’t find deeper discounts and it is a great way to discover new local stores with which you may not have been familiar. Before I became involved in the event, I attended the Warehouse Sale as a shopper every year; it was always a good time and I still wear some of the pieces I scored!

Last year on Alexandria Stylebook, Elizabeth shared her “pro tips” on making the most of this shopping event, and since there’s no reason to reinvent the wheel I thought I’d revisit them this year, too. Let us know if you have any other questions though, and don’t forget to enter to win early access tickets for you and a friend!

Do you have to buy a ticket?

No, in the tradition of a New York sample sale, this Warehouse sale is free and admission is first-come, first-served.

Will it be a mad house?

We control admission flow at the door so all customers have the space to look at all the great merchandise. We promise you an enjoyable shopping experience.

What stores are participating?

The Shoe Hive, Lululemon, Coco Blanca, Mystique Fine Jewelers, Olio Tasting Room, and Sara Campbell are just a few. For a complete list, visit the event’s web page here.

Should I arrive early?

If you want to make sure you get first dibs at merchandise, then yes. Attendees begin lining up at least one hour before the sale starts. We can’t let everyone in at once; we have to observe the fire code so sometimes there is a wait once the doors have opened. Typically, there is no wait for the afternoon hours.

If I come later is there anything left?

YES!! I always tell folks if you aren’t one for the excitement of the crowd, come later. The line (which is indoors) and congestion tend to clear up around noon and there are plenty of great items and deals left to be found.

Is there any way to get to shop early?

We are giving away four Early Entry passes; you and a guest can start shopping at 8am, a full hour before we open our doors. Click here for your chance to win!

How deep are the discounts?

You will find markdowns anywhere from 60 to 80 percent off. Each store is different, but for all participants these are the best deals of the season.

Are there dressing rooms?

There are no dressing rooms. Wear leggings and a tank top so you can easily try items on over your clothes. The secret of a warehouse sale is to come prepared.

Do stores take credit cards?

Yes, credit cards are taken on a store-by-store basis. Cash is accepted but please, no checks.

Where do I park?

There are parking lots located adjacent to the Westin and limited street parking if you get there early enough.

What If I don’t have a car?

You can take Metro’s Yellow or Blue line to King Street Station and use the Westin’s shuttle every 15 minutes to the hotel. If you aren’t up for the shuttle the walk is only a couple blocks.

Is there a coat check?

Yes, we will have free coat check all day.

Is there any place to eat?

Food is not for sale at the event, but there is a great restaurant located downstairs if you want to get a civilized meal or a cocktail after you are done shopping. Pasara Thai is the closest full-service restaurant to the Westin, and Panera, Jimmy Johns, and Starbucks are right around the corner as well.
