pantone color of the year: home edition

While we didn’t expect that Pantone would select two shades for its color of the year, we were charmed but not completely surprised to see Rose Quartz in the mix. We have been loving the warm, inviting hue for a while now (take a look at the guest bedroom we designed for the 2015 DC Design House to see just how much we love it!), and think pairing it with the cooler, airier blue Serenity is simply inspired.

At Ivy Lane Living, our designs are often inspired by nature, and what could be lovelier than a palette that evokes both the promise of sunrise and the quiet of twilight? So whether the hues have encouraged you to rework an entire room, or you are looking to add a little pop of Rose Quartz or Serenity to your life, Ivy Lane Living has you covered:

rose quartz sofa

We designed a home for a dear client recently, and we are all now obsessed with the Rose Quartz mohair fabric on this modern deco sofa. And look at the painting above the mantel – so on trend!

A cashmere throw (similar throws available in the shop!), the faux bois pillows, and flora and fauna fabric by Bennison in the Roman shades bring hints of Serenity to this cream kitchen we designed.

option 1

1 & 6) Embroidery is the perfect way to bring a little colors of the year into your home, whether a monogrammed towel ($30) or the perfect canvas tote ($115).

2) Magnolia wallpaper! Imagine a powder room in this happy pattern. Yes, you can (and should!) go big in small spaces, especially when the colors are cheerful. (Price upon request.)

3 & 4) Bella Bliss is a customer favorite, and these cute, super-soft jammies ($58) and knit hooded baby cardigan (also available in blue, $72) will keep your little ones cozy. Each can be monogrammed, of course.

5) You know how we adore Addison Weeks. This Rose Quartz candle ($168), also available as a votive ($68), is literally the color of the year.
