Packing for the Amalfi Coast

This July, my family is heading to the Amalfi coast for vacation! My husband I are super excited and feel very fortunate to make this trip with our three grown children and their significant others. It has been years since we have traveled as a family and this will be a trip to remember! It’s going to be a beautiful opportunity to relax, unwind, and spend time with my family while seeing some of the most gorgeous coastlines in the world.

Of course, I’ve already started planning my travel-friendly outfits. I’m focusing on sheer silky tops, linen pants, and breezy maxi-dresses. They’re so easy to just pull out of a suitcase and throw on because they won’t get too wrinkled on the flight into Naples.

Sorrento

The house we will be staying in is located in Sorrento, where we will be spending the first part of our trip having a foodie’s dream day, sampling amazing wines and cheeses and as much pasta as our waistbands will allow! I’m going to be wearing the gorgeous asymmetrical “Java” dress from Mes Demoiselles. The coral print is summery, and the fabric is very light and airy. Plus, I’ll be able to get some sun on my shoulders! I’ll be carrying the “Crete” tassel clutch by Haute Shore. Tassels are super in for summer, and the pop of aqua is a perfect match to the beautiful sea that will be surrounding us!

Capri

The next part of our trip will be spent boating in Capri! I’ll be wearing my bathing suit out on the boat deck, but if when we dock to have a quiet lunch, or to take a stroll in the Gardens of Augustus, or tour the Punta Carena Lighthouse, I’ll be throwing on the “Geo Lace Tunic” cover-up from Echo New York. I may even wear it again in Positano with a soft camisole tank and some linen shorts. Luckily, we carry it at Coco Blanca in both Black and White Sand! To keep the sun off my face, I’ll be wearing a sunhat by Flora Bella International, which I can put inside my beach bag, also by Flora Bella International. I love this tote because it is not too bulky, but it is roomy enough to hold my hat, sunglasses, wallet, and beach towel!

Ravello and Pompeii

For the last bit of our trip, we will be playing tourist. I’m especially excited to check out the ruins of Pompeii! Hopefully, we can get some cool photo ops as a family, and learn a little bit of history while we’re at it. These last few days are going to contain a lot of walking, so I’m going to be staying comfortable in the “Finn Bermuda short” from Joe’s Jeans. They are specially designed to wick away stains, which makes them easy to wash if anything spills. The light distressing is trendy, and, of course, the white is perfect for summer. These shorts can easily go straight from sightseeing to a nice dinner. In Ravell0, I will be wearing the “Have It All” tunic by Stella Carakasi. It is super comfortable, and the neutral color makes it easy to pair with accessories.

Evening in Positano

In Positano, I’m hoping we will get to do a nicer dinner out. For this, I’m going to want to stay on the lighter side because it will still be hot, but perhaps a silk dress or top instead of cotton or linen to step it up for night. I’m packing the Stella Carakasi “Halo Effect” dress in the color midnight. It has a cotton liner that hugs the body, but a silk layer over top that adds that pop. On top, I’ll be wearing one of our stunning necklaces by our favorite Italian designer, Mela. Another one of my options is the Love Sam beaded “Fleur Tank.” The cream color is flattering against a tan, and the beading adds just the right amount of sparkle!
