December 1 = National Christmas Lights Day

Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays! To kick off December, we are celebrating National Christmas Lights Day. This year more than ever, we are rounding up the holiday fun that’s happening right here at home in Northern VA. Last week, we put a call out on our Instagram account asking, “Where can we find the best Christmas lights in ALX?” From our followers’ suggestions and our own research, we’ve compiled a list of festive displays to enjoy this season.

Ice & Lights Winter Village at Cameron Run

Open November 20 – January 3. Here you can ice skate, enjoy light displays, take some great photo ops, and go through the 100ft light tunnel arch. All tickets must be purchased in advance online. Tickets for just the Winter Village are $9.35 each and $24 with ice skating.

Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights

We also must share with you Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights, an up-to-date and festive list of ranked and rated holiday displays in the Northern Virginia area. Holly has been tracking the best and the brightest for the past 20 years and makes sure to keep up with “lights on” dates from participating homeowners. Her interactive website also keeps tabs on which homes have animated lights to music or radio stations, which homes turn lights off for rain, and presents a Google Map to show displays in the area. Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights also allows visitors to rank the displays using the following system: “Classy,” “Easy on the Eyes,” “Regurgitated Christmas,” “Seen from Space,” and “Holy Moly!” Check out this list for the latest updates on holiday lights.

For local 22308 holiday fun, make sure to drive by Bunker Hill Road. You might spot me as you drive past our animated, dancing light display! Make sure to snap a photo and tag @pattersonrealestategroup on Instagram.
