move of the week: wild thing / flipping your dog

This is a beautiful heart opener and gentle backbend with a silly name. Start in downward dog and lift one foot up. Bend that knee and open your hip, starting to stack one hip on top of the other. To get the most stretch out of this pose you want the leg that is down to stay straight, so draw yourself forward into a plank with the top leg still lifted. Then simply drop the lifted foot behind the bottom leg, but keep your heel up. Start to press your hips up into the air by pressing into the feet, and then lift your chest as you sweep your arm behind your head and drop your head back. Enjoy the length in the body as you breath and stretch.
