looking ahead: a holiday hint

Did anyone else shudder at the sight of Halloween decorations in stores this past week? And not because they were scary, but because how in the world is it already October?? I am not one to jump the gun on the holidays, but it does seem like the end of 2015 is going to fly by. I just got my first invitation to a fall-themed gathering and my family is trying to confirm my Thanksgiving plans! My growing awareness of the upcoming holiday season was the inspiration behind this post.

You see, every year the holidays catch me by surprise and I am left flummoxed both by what to give and what to wear. Well, this year I’m going to solve at least one of those problems early on. Luckily, fashion is always ahead of the game and stores are already starting to stock cocktail attire. I’m not going to wait for invitations to arrive in the mail before finding a few go-to party dresses because by the time they do arrive it will be too late. I won’t find the time to shop, and will end up throwing something together at the last minute–neither looking nor feeling my best.

But, this? THIS is one of THOSE dresses. You know, the kind that makes you look AND feel like a million bucks. By Julia Jordan, it is perfect for a variety of fall and winter events from weddings to workplace end-of-year celebrations. I’m not suggesting that you break out your twinkle lights or play holiday tunes on your commute. I’m just suggesting that looking ahead and filling holes in your wardrobe now might not be such a bad idea.

This dress is currently available at Kiskadee.
