Christmas morning is always a production. From the kids running around opening everything with a bow to preparing a meal for the whole family, it’s both stressful and joyous in nearly equal measure–although I think the joyous part tips the scale in the end. The last thing I want to do when I wake up (or rather, someone wakes me up) is to put on a full face of makeup. Yet I know many photos will be taken that morning and it doesn’t take much to look photo-ready. Trust me. I speak from experience. A little bit goes a long way.
Stick to the basics: Bb cream just to even out the skin tone. I personally use the BB Blur by Peter Thomas Roth (it has light reflecting diamond dust in it). For my eyes, a quick swipe of mascara (especially if you are blonde), goes a long way. Kevyn Aucoin volumizing mascara is amazing because it tubes the lash and won’t smudge even if tear up. And lastly, a lip balm with a little color (Fresh Sugar lip balm in Rose has just enough color), to brighten up my face. Three easy steps and you’ll have your photo-viewers wondering just how you look that good that early.
