Howdy, Alexandria!

I’m thrilled to formally introduce myself. My name is Daniella Blanco, and I am the newest member of the Coco Blanca family. I recently relocated from Beaumont, Texas, and am happy to call Alexandria my new home. The wonderful ladies at Coco Blanca have made me feel so welcome. But how, you may ask, did I end up in Northern Virginia?

I have a retail background, having worked with my mother at her southern boutique in Texas after college.  Well, one fateful day, I got a call from the lovely Susie Neithamer, who was looking for a new manager. A few FaceTime calls with Susie and Gayla, we hit it off, and Coco felt like the perfect fit.  So with a Labradoodle and parrot in the backseat of my sedan, I made the 27-hour trek from Texas, and I haven’t looked back yet.

A little bit about me — one of my favorite pastimes is curling up with a good book, so I thought I’d share what I’m reading. Isn’t everyone always looking for something good to read?

I recently read a fun, romantic Chick Lit book titled “Swept Off Her Feet” by Hester Browne. At the heart of the story is Evie Nicholson, a single Londoner who has an affinity for anything old with an interesting story. Good thing she works as an appraiser at an antique shop! The story follows two very different sisters whose dreams may come true at a romantic Scottish ball. 
As a favor to her sister Alice’s family friend drowning in debt, Evie jumps at the chance to appraise their newly inherited Scottish castle full of artifacts and heirlooms. What could be more thrilling than roaming the halls of Kettlesheer and uncovering the McAndrews’ family treasures — and dusty secrets? Add to this the preparations for a true candlelight Scottish ball, complete with kilts and a traditional dance, and Evie easily loses herself in daydreams as she wanders the old castle’s halls. But crossing paths with moody heir Robert McAndrew has Evie assessing what she wants the most…
Hester Browne is definitely one of my favorite “go-to authors” on my book shelf.  I love her leading ladies; they are always strong and smart, but still relatable and warm. There is so much more to this book and the characters within, but you will have to explore the story for yourself!
