how to transition like a pro

It may seem far fetched to say that fall is on its way, as we are experiencing days in the mid ’90s, but the reality is cooler days will be here before we know it. Fall styles are starting to trickle into our stores and we can’t wait to start sporting these new pieces, when the weather will allow us to. When we start hitting late August it will be time to start the transition into our fall wardrobes and you will want to be prepared to do so.

This doesn’t mean you have to dive straight into your chunky knit sweaters and wool tights once we hit September. There is a much more efficient way to transition your wardrobe into the cooler months, without taking the full plunge into your winter garb. We have broken down our top tips on how to make the transition simple and have highlighted our favorite pieces that will make the season change easy peasy.

Tips On How To Transition Like a Pro

1.Staple Denim: Finding a great pair of denim for fall is probably one of the most important things you need to do. They need to feel comfortable, fit like a dream and you also need to get use out of them all fall and winter long. This fall we are going all in on Joe’s Jeans – the fit is absolute perfection and they feel like you are wearing leggings, no joke. These jeans are a must have for fall.

2.Mix and Match: Since we are talking about those in-between months where the day can start chilly and then warm up later in the day, you will need to mix pieces from your summer and fall wardrobes. Wear your favorite jeans with a basic tank and then throw on a vest, light cardigan or structured blazer over it. Layering is ideal during this time of year because you will be prepared for anything.

3.Add A Long Vest: Long vests are all the rage this fall and can really change the entire look of your outfit. You can turn a basic look, into a stylish standout ensemble just by adding a simple vest. We love this one on style blogger, Sarah, because it incorporates soft supple leather and is a neutral color that can be worn with anything.

4.Gold Statement Jewelry: Statement Jewelry can be worn year round but we think rich gold hues really pop in the fall. We tend to keep the jewelry pretty minimal during the summer and lean toward dainty necklaces that feel like they are barley there. But when fall rolls around we reach for chunkier pieces that can really make a statement.

5.Suede Booties: Finding a great pair of suede booties that you can wear during the transition to fall and into the end of fall are key for almost every woman’s wardrobe. These booties pictured are perfect because the peekaboo heel makes them a bit cooler on your feet but also gives off a fall vibe. Although we don’t sell shoes, we do recommend heading over to The Shoe Hive for all of your shoe needs.
