Needless to say buying trips are the most fun part of owning a store. We take an early train to New York on Monday, hit the Javits Center, where the show is held, then treat ourselves to a very nice dinner at night, and always stay at the ink 48, a wonderful Kimpton Hotel that is walking distance from the Javits Center. We get up the next day at a little slower pace but manage to finish all our buying before we get on a train for home that evening.
This week was “the gift show,” now called NY NOW, which has home, lifestyle, and gifts, and is just one of several shows we attend. We’ve written about our buying trips plenty of times before but I think it’s always fun to see what’s new out there.
Here we are happy and eager to get started.
The home section is my personal favorite section of the show.
Great rooms are set up for inspiration.
Our favorite Barr and Co. has beautiful new products.
Fell in love with this guy as I was walking by!
And these stopped us in our tracks: letter-pressed guides of our favorite cities! These are also available for Charleston and Los Angeles.
We found great looking lamps at Bungalow 5.
I love these gorgeous prints of hand-tied flies on handmade paper.
Love this guy.
These throws make me long for a snowy day. There are plenty of rug companies but we always enjoy looking through all the cowhides. These items together would make for a cozy space!
And speaking of cozy, hard to believe but we are buying Holiday for the store now! And some great gifts…
These beautiful frames with linen mats included are well priced.
And, we found these adorable earrings for the holidays. There seemed to be a feather trend!
And our favorite French lady who always offers up some fabulous, trendy clothes at great prices. She’s modeling one of the sweaters we bought here.
Notes on restaurant where we had dinner: we all three highly recommend!
These pictures are just a small sampling of everything we all we saw. We had a great time buying to bring you all the most fabulous items at the show. Come check us out.
