denim for petite women
Reader: I am really short which makes it difficult to buy jeans. Should I look for styles that are made for short women or consider just having regular pairs tailored?
Darby: As a “smaller person in stature, 5’2” to be exact, I can answer this question with experience behind it! I have to get everything hemmed… Truly… You name it. From my yoga pants, pjs, to my favorite jeans, they all go to the tailor! I do not let my height get in the way of buying what I love and paying a few extra dollars to tailor it. That being said, I recommend you take a few minutes to look in fashion magazines, catalogs, or your People Magazine to see the look you want!! I think you will find all hem lines are represented. Being shorter I do not prefer to wear a flat with my jeans. I think even a small heel gives the illusion of longer legs! Feel good about who you are, what your body type is, and make friends with your tailor! Happy holidays!
