Delight in the Details at the DC Design House

There has never been a DC Design House that I didn’t like and this one is no exception. This house has so many beautiful pieces of art and furniture put together by fantastic designers. It was difficult to come up with one room that I loved the most so I have put together a list of elements that I love.

Botanicals

I’ll start with these botanicals in a room was done by Erica Burns because I was particularly enamored with them. The botanicals were done by Sweetgreen Botanicals out of Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Lighting

I love a lamp that makes a statement and this one surely does. The chocolate brown linen shade with pleated folds made this room by Erica Burns.

This contemporary lamp adds to the style of the lovely feminine bedroom by Keira St. Claire-Bowery.

This is a gorgeous chandelier by Niermann Weeks in Karen Snyder’s room.

This chandelier adds to the playfulness of Susan Jamieson’s dining room. I love it all on its own, too!

Couldn’t help but notice this beautiful lamp by Aerin from Visual Comfort, available through Coco Blanca.

Very cool chandelier in the Lady’s Retreat by Marika Meyer.

Furniture

This absolutely stunning chair is a show stopper. Found this in the very sophisticated room done by Lorna Gross.

Again in Lorna Gross’ room, love this beautiful console with a bit of whimsy.

I would take this bed home with me right now if my husband would let me! Room by Keira St. Claire-Bowery.

This chair adds such contemporary style to a table in the sitting room by Camille Saum. Perfect for playing games!

Upholstery

This very elegant and comfortable club chair adds a subtle elegance to the grand architecture of the room done by Josh Hildreth.

In the same room, the comfortable sofa with a slipcover in beautiful linen creates comfortable seating in the chic and relaxed space. And yes! to the daybed, below, also in the room.

A different, curvy take on this slipper chair.

Always love a sectional and this is a classic, nice one. Room by Erica Burns.

Can’t beat this classic sofa. Room by Lorna Gross.

Whimsical Art

I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the whimsical art in Josh Hildreth’s room. I am sure there must be quite a story behind this sculpture.

This extraordinary contemporary piece of art adds a great (blow, ha!) pop of color, and such great style and effect to Margery Wedderburn’s Living Room.

Perfect piece of art for the Powder Room done by Mary Amons.
