The Two Items I Can’t Leave Home Without Are…

We love to find ways to have our readers get to know us a little more..so what better way to get to know who we are then for us to tell you the top two items we can’t leave the house without. For me, it’s my Parker Thatch bear bag and my water bottle. Having a bag that carries everything I need and looks cute is always number one on my list and I’m trying my hardest to drink enough water every day (I gave up coffee – yes, I’m crazy), so water bottle it is! Here are a few other items we can’t leave the house without…

Meaghan Foran | Alx&Co.

Two items I pretty much always have on hand are Burt’s Bees tinted chapstick and water. Boring, I know, but we’re talking essentials here! For the chapstick, the “Red Dahlia” color is the ideal everyday natural pick-me-up shade and it mixes really beautifully with my various lipsticks. The water is a no-brainer for me, especially during these dry winter months. Tip: if you’re hit by that 4pm office lag and feel like getting a cup of coffee, try drinking a big glass of water instead. You’re probably just dehydrated from being inside all day!

Angela | Bellacara

This isn’t very original, but my phone. I don’t know anyone’s phone number’s by heart anymore and I’d be lost without WAZE. Second, (I’m not sure this is how the question was intended) my eyebrows. Once you get used to groomed brows, there is no going back. My brows are sparse and blonde, I don’t even recognize myself without brow pencil.

Amy | Red Barn Mercantile & Penny Post

I never leave the house without my phone. I feel naked without it and will drive all the way back home to get it if necessary. It’s a problem. If it’s winter then I never leave home without my favorite lip balm, Smith’s Minted Rose Lip Balm from Bellacara. It’s the best for chapped lips and the vintage packaging makes me smile when I use it.

Danielle | fibre space

If you’ve ever had the fortune (or misfortune) of sitting next to me at a bar, you know that I always have a knitting project with me. I usually carry a sock project in my purse because it is small and portable and the ribbing is easy to do without looking down at my hands. Plus, knitting does keep me from checking my phone!

I’ve also always got a lip balm on me because it serves so many purposes! I have several hidden in various coat pockets, purses, and pouches. I use it in on my knuckles when I’m knitting and my hands get dry, and on minor scrapes and scratches that my kid always manages to have on her. My favorite is from Nuxe, which disappeared from the US market a few years ago. I was so excited to find a stick version at Bellacara when they were able to order it again.

Ali Hellmuth | ALH Style

This is a great topic. I have this chic little black backpack in my coat closet (next to my daughter’s diaper bag) that contains everything I need for my day. The contents include my lap top, a note book, a planner, and a little pen case. Anyway, this backpack has lasted me quite a long time and I think it’s much better for my back than a heavy catch-all tote. The other item I can’t leave my house without is lipstick. As a working mom I feel like there’s a lot going on all of the time and it’s really easy to leave the house looking and feeling disheveled. It’s small, but my lipstick helps me feel more put together. Also, I’m usually wearing black, so it’s my pop!

Celeste | Kiskadee

Besides the obvious thing of my phone, two things that I can’t leave my house without is my planner and my Kindle. When it comes to keeping track of my appointments and planning out my week, I prefer to do it with paper. Several years ago, I got this awesome planner in the Rachel Zoe Box of Style. I’ve ordered one every year since. The brand is sugar•paper and truly, their planners are the best. I love keeping my Kindle Paperwhite with me, especially when I know I have carpool duty. I like to relax and read a little bit if I have 15 or 20 minutes to spare somewhere. It’s so small that it really doesn’t take up much space in my purse. Bonus, the pink sparkly cover I have for it makes me happy.

Katie | Mint Condition

I can’t leave my house without Fresh Sugar lip balm in caramel From Bellacara – it’s so addicting and makes my lips so soft! I reapply more than necessary because I’m obsessed with the smell.

Lately, I haven’t been able to leave my house without my new Stutterheim rain jacket from The Hive. It keeps me dry, looks great, and has a really neat and simple design to it that actually makes it a practical rain jacket. (My last rain jacket didn’t have a hood- what is the point?!)

Elizabeth | The Hive & The Shoe Hive

The first item was not difficult for me to think of, it is the hair ties from France Luxe. We sell them at the store and I always have one either in my hair, on my wrist, or stashed in every compartment of my purse. My hair is a full time job and these are the only hair ties I have used that do not leave a mark and don’t fall out when I exercise.

The second item took me a little longer, and the reason is there is not necessarily an exact brand I use, there are three or four. But my lips are always dry, and in the winter it is even worse, so I always have lip balm with me. Not lipstick or lip gloss, but actual balm. I have two current favorites from Bellacara, The Lip Slip by Sara Happ and Lip Moisturizing Stick by Nuxe.
